ISPO Indonesia conducted a four day course that took place in Jakarta in August 2017.
The Short Course consisted of theory and hands-on sessions. Both parts were well attended by the enthusiastic and involved health professionals from multiple disciplines (PMR, MD, physiotherapist, prosthetists and orthotist) and students.
The practical workshop attendees were divided into two groups: 1) doctors and physiotherapists, and 2) prosthetists and orthotists. During the session the therapist and physicians assessed the patients’, conducted physical examinations and prepared treatment plans.
All participants showed an enthusiastic collaboration during the course and gave the positive feedback, that they hope that ISPO Indonesia will organize a similar event in the future.
Jules Becher, ISPO Task Officer involved in the Short Course, says: “ISPO Indonesia Short Course was a big step ahead! This multidisciplinary training in family focussed therapy and orthotic treatment in Cerebral Palsy brought together happy parents, children and other participants who learn by doing: the strongest empowerment.”
