ISPO Palestine, in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) initiated a series of meetings between P&O professionals from Gaza and the West Bank to foster the constitution of a local P&O Association there by the end of the year. Further meetings will take place to finalize the process (validation from MoH sought in December).
Skype video calls are to be set up for each meeting to include the committee from Gaza as they lack access to the West Bank to attend the meetings physically.
Meetings will be scheduled each time in different P&O facilities within the West Bank as a step towards tightening and strengthening the relationships between P&O professionals and to create a team spirit amongst them.
It has been decided that the Palestinian Prosthetic and Orthotic Association will form the legal body responsible for standardizing the protocols for P&O service provision and helping to improve the quality of life of those who benefit from Prostheses, Orthoses, Assistive and mobility devices.
