ISPO Holds Successful 14th World Congress in Hyderabad (India)


Opening on 4 February 2013, the Congress closed its doors after four exciting days of lectures, seminars, workshops, meetings, talks, exhibition and social events.

Some 1,800 participants from over 85 countries could enjoy an inspiring, high-quality and truly global event which opened significant growth perspectives for individuals and businesses. The host country was very well represented with more than 500 Indian delegates visiting the congress and tradeshow.

Feedback from congress participants, exhibitors and visitors was very positive. The top class scientific program consisted of 17 topics addressed in over 100 posters, 260 oral presentations presented in 56 free paper sessions, 27 instructional courses, 21 symposia as well as 16 exhibitor’s workshops.

The exhibition gathered over 100 exhibitors from 24 countries besides 15 companies from India and provided participants with an opportunity to discover the latest technology in the sector. Exhibitors agreed that the 14th ISPO World Congress offered an excellent opportunity to present their products and companies in the promising growing market of India and Asia overall, but also to the wider international audience.

Following ISPO’s tradition, several prizes were awarded and especially the Forchheimer Prize, the Yeongchi Wu Prize and the Best Poster and Best Free Paper Prizes.

The Closing Ceremony ended with an invitation from the chairman of ISPO France, Jean - Pierre Lissac, to come to the next ISPO World Congress hosted in Lyon, France on 22-25 June 2015. It was given "Rendez-vous in Lyon" to everyone officially!

The 13th edition of the ISPO World Congress no doubt marks a significant step for professionals in the region and worldwide which will positively impact not only on the P&O and rehabilitation community but also the patients in India and beyond.
