18 months Course in Lower Limb Orthotic Technology / Lower Limb Prosthetic Technology
After several surveys and professional studies about available patient service for the people with disability in Vietnam, it was found the skills of the professionals in orthotics were not adequate enough to offer the needed quality of orthopaedic devices. The implementation of shorter courses in specific areas beside the regular three years training are rather important for an improvement of the quality.
The orthopaedic staff working in rehabilitation centres in the country and NGO's working in the rehabilitation for people with disabilities have acknowledged the advantage of block training. Therefore VIETCOT has been asked to develop short training blocks on special topics, the so called "Tailor made courses”.
