ISPO recognizes the importance of collaborations with interested partner organizations to improve - on a worldwide basis - the quality of life for persons who may benefit from prosthetic, orthotic, mobility and assistive devices. Through its Open Board ISPO keeps in regular contact with its main partners.
In particular, ISPO is in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO), and does, through coordinated efforts, contribute to the implementation of several of the WHO’s strategic objectives.
Furthermore, ISPO maintains a close collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In the framework of a specific programme funded by USAID, ISPO undertakes a number of rehabilitation activities in developing countries.
Seeing the value of affiliation to certain initiatives, ISPO has decided to ensure its voice in relevant forums, such as the Global Partnership for Disability and Development (GPDD) and the Global Clubfoot Initiative (GCI).
In an effort to further increase its impact, ISPO invites collaborators to contribute to the important work the Society performs through sponsorship opportunites and donations.
ISPO is very proud of the relations it established with some of the major stakeholders in the field of prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation around the world throughout the years, and is grateful for the synergies that allow for ISPO to get closer and closer to accomplishing its mission.
Furthemore, in recognition of the fact that there are great disparities around the globe in terms of earnings, financial means and opportunities, and in an effort to enhance worldwide collaboration and mutual benefit within its international network of prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation professionals and organizations, ISPO International is working to facilitate the Twinning of Member Societies and individual ISPO Membership Sponsoring.
