Research

Promoting research and evidence-based practice, and facilitating innovative and appropriate technology development are missions of ISPO to improve the quality of life of the persons with disabilities. The ISPO Scientific Committee has established several projects to promote and develop along these directions.

ISPO Recommendation for Defining Participants in Prosthetics Research - an ISPO‐sanctioned data set for reporting participant characteristics in prosthetic research and development publications.

ISPO Stride Parameter Database: bringing together stride parameter information from the literature for unilateral transtibial and transfemoral amputee level walking.

Improving Prosthetic and Orthotic Sciences Programme – aiming to support novice researchers in enhancing their knowledge of basic procedures and requirements for publication in conference proceedings or research/clinical journals related to prosthetics and orthotics.

ISPO is partnering in a cross-disciplinary project under the European Union Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme: 'MovAiD - Movement Assisting Devices: Manufacturing of personalised Kineto-Dynamics parts and products for workers, elderly and children'.
