BIENNIUM REPORT 2021-2023 36 Regional Collaboration ISPO supports the development of regional groups and collaborates with these groups so that they can focus more sustained efforts on mutual challenges faced in different areas across the globe. Global Partnership Exchange (GPEx) During the biennium, several online meetings were organised with our partner organisations through its Global Partnership Exchange (GPEx, the ISPO leadership and representatives from the partner organisations used this opportunity to provide updates on their work and discuss potential collaboration opportunities. The purpose of GPEx is to provide a forum for on-going networking that enables strategic dialogue about common challenges in the field of rehabilitation and assistive technology (with an emphasis on mobility devices such as prostheses, orthoses, and wheelchairs). The overarching goal of GPEx is to improve the quality of life for persons who may benefit from mobility and assistive devices. Over the years, the ISPO GPex has grown significantly, with 33 member organisations from across the globe now involved. During the biennium, three organisations joined the ISPO GPEx: the Global Disability Innovation Hub (GDI Hub), the Global Alliance of Assistive Technology Organisations (GAATO) and International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT).
