ISPO Brazil possesses a solid basis thanks to its close collaboration with the historic and nationally renowned organization, the Brazilian Association of Technical Orthotics (Associação Brasileira de Ortopedia Técnica – ABOTEC). Several important members of ABOTEC’s directorship are also part of ISPO Brazil, playing an important role in the development and consolidation of ISPO Brazil.

According to official data gathered by the Brazilian Government through the “Plano Viver Sem Limites” (Living Without Limits Plan), there are 45 Million people in need of some sort of assistive device today. Of those, it can be estimated that 25 Million people need P&O assistance, while only 2000 professionals possess basic certification out of which 600 professionals have technical training that is according to ISPO standards (P&O training, Universidad Don Bosco).
