On the occasion of the Second Global Rehabilitation 2030 meeting which took place on 8-9 July 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland, ISPO President met with the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine (ISPRM) and Cochrane Rehabilitation to discuss further collaboration in the field of rehabilitation and assistive technology.

Both partners joined the ISPO Global Partnership Exchange by signing a detailed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and declared to be thrilled about fostering their collaboration with ISPO.

Walter Frontera, President of ISPRM, said: “The collaboration with ISPO represents a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a sister professional organization with which we have so much in common. ISPO is an international leader and we are very happy we can work together on projects and ideas that will advance rehabilitation.”

Professor Friedbert Kohler OAM, ISPO President, added: “An excellent opportunity to share knowledge and experiences with a partner organisation with an opportunity to have sessions in each other World Congresses”.

Stefano Negrini, Cochrane Rehabilitation Director, was also delighted about this new collaboration between ISPO and Cochrane Rehabilitation: “We are happy to advance the existing collaboration with ISPO. This will allow to spread even more the services we offer for free to all rehabilitation professionals, distributing all the new evidence coming from Cochrane. We are also sure that our common initiatives will allow to produce better evidence for all rehabilitation professionals engaged in the field of prosthetics, orthotics, mobility and assistive technology.”

ISPO President confirmed this collaboration was “a welcome opportunity to work together to advance and evaluate the evidence base in all of rehabilitation and in particular for prosthetics, orthotics and mobility devices.”
