Yeongchi Wu International Education Award
The Yeongchi Wu International Education Award was established by Sepp Heim and Daniel Blocka at the ISPO World Congress 2004 to honour Yeongchi Wu, MD for his effort and contribution to improve the prosthetic services in developing countries.
The Yeongchi Wu International Educational Award recognizes the contributions that prosthetic and orthotic professionals from low-income countries are making in the development of the prosthetic and orthotic field. The award is to be given to the winner of a competition among interested P&O students and practitioners from low-income countries.
The winner will be selected by representatives organized by the Chair of the World Congress Scientific Committee based on a paper and a presentation of a new or innovative P&O technique or product developed by the individual. The potential impact in the treatment of people with disabilities in low-income countries should be considered an important factor in the selection process.
The winners are selected before the World Congress, based on scoring of submitted abstracts. The procedure is similar to the World Congress Best Paper and Poster Prizes.
The winners are informed before the World Congress by ISPO Head Office.
- a certificate of recognition,
- a cash amount of USD 1000
- an additional contribution of USD 500 from Dan Blocka for supporting the winner to attend the ISPO world Congress.
