HS Upgrade Program for Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BSc in P&O)

The HS Upgrade Program offers a unique educational pathway for ISPO Associate Prosthetist/Orthotist (formerly Category II) certificate holders to advance to the Prosthetist/Orthotist level (formerly ISPO Category I). This comprehensive, six-semester program combines theoretical instruction, practical workshops, and research, leading to a dual qualification:

  • ISPO Professional Prosthetist/Orthotist Certificate
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand

Program Highlights

  • Blended Learning Model: Online studies via a secure e-learning platform combined with on-site practical workshops at centralized locations
  • Six Semesters of Study: Each semester offers advanced theoretical and practical training, focusing on specialized areas of P&O science, alongside medical and general sciences

Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Valid ISPO Associate Prosthetist/Orthotist Certificate (Category II)
  • At least 2 years of practical experience working with patients after certification
  • A minimum of 12 years of school education (high school diploma or equivalent)
  • Current employment at a P&O center (hospital, healthcare, or rehabilitation facility)
  • with direct patient care and device fabrication responsibilities
  • Proficiency in English (TOEFL 500 or equivalent)
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, web search tools, and
  • communication platforms such as Skype, Zoom, or Teams
  • Stable high-speed internet access
  • Most importantly, a strong motivation to serve individuals with disabilities and
  • contribute to the welfare of your community

This program equips graduates with the knowledge, skills, and international qualifications necessary for delivering advanced prosthetic and orthotic treatments while preparing them to become leaders and trainers in the field.
