Awards
At each ISPO World Congress, ISPO recognises outstanding achievements through various awards and prizes.
Fellowship
Fellowship is a special designation of individual ISPO members that have exceptionally contributed to the ISPO mission and goals by personal achievement, integrity, reputation, and activities on behalf of the Society.
Criteria of ISPO Fellowship
- Contribute significantly to ISPO activities, or to the enhancement of P&O services in general, including advancements in education, training, or research.
- ISPO member for at least 10 years. In exceptional cases it is possible to nominate non-ISPO members for Fellowship.
Nomination Procedure
- Nomination as a Fellow is performed by the individual’s Member Society, according to the Member Society’s policies and protocol, or by any group of five persons on the International Committee.
- Nominators are requested to complete the Fellowship Nomination Form, including an uploaded CV of the suggested candidate.

Knud Jansen Lecture
The Knud Jansen Lecture was initiated by ISPO in honour of its founding President. It is delivered at the ISPO World Congress opening ceremony by an eminent person selected by the Executive Board, which has made significant contributions by servicing ISPO, or the field of prosthetics and orthotics by keeping with the vision and aims of ISPO.

Bryan and Joyce Blatchford Team Prize for Innovation
Forchheimer Prize
Established by the Forchheimer Family to honour the memory of Sylvia and Alfred Forchheimer, the prize is awarded to the most outstanding paper on objective clinical assessment, clinical evaluation or clinical measurement published in Prosthetics and Orthotics International during the years prior to the World Congress.
Awards
Sepp Heim Award
Established in 2021, the award honours Sepp Heim’s significant lifetime contributions to ISPO and to the development of mobility devices, services and education in less resourced settings. It recognises an individual or an institution/organisation that have made significant contributions to the development and/or provision of appropriate mobility device services in less resourced settings.
