Our mission is to highlight the importance and impact for those needing prostheses and orthoses and the need to provide further resources to ensure equitable and appropriate access to prosthetics and orthotics services.
The theme for the 2022 International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day is “Enabling and Empowering”.
- Enabling because access to prosthetics and orthotics services helps people to live healthy, productive, independent, and dignified lives and to learn, work and generally to take part in society and thus, participate in the development of their countries.
Empowering because access to prosthetics and orthotics services provides opportunities to those accessing the services, to determine their own future and fully participate in community life.
