Following the incredible success of ISPO’s 2026 Global Educators Meeting (GEM) in Bangkok, Thailand, we are thrilled to officially announce the destination for our next gathering.
In 2028, the global prosthetics and orthotics education community will convene in Glasgow, United Kingdom. The meeting will be hosted at the prestigious National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Strathclyde.
This world-renowned hub for prosthetic and orthotic excellence was selected after a highly competitive bidding process. The selection panel were particularly drawn to the University of Strathclyde’s excellent environment which is the perfect setting for educators to connect and exchange best practices.
Ashley Mullen, Chair of ISPO’s GEM Subcommittee said,
“We are delighted to announce that GEM 2028 will be hosted by the University of Strathclyde. The University’s longstanding leadership in orthotics and prosthetics education, along with its deep engagement with ISPO, made it a compelling choice.
We are excited to bring GEM to Glasgow and look forward to collaborating closely with the local organising committee to deliver another impactful meeting for educators worldwide. We’d like to thank all of the educational programmes who submitted a bid and continue to support the GEM.”
In anticipation of ISPO’s global community of educators convening in Glasgow, Karyn Ross, representing the Local Organising Committee, said,
