ISPO World Congress 2017

The 16th World Congress of ISPO was held in Cape Town, South Africa between 8 and 11 May 2017, under the guiding theme “Assistive Technology for All”.

Held for the first time on the African continent, the event gathered 2000 participants.

Highlights of the congress included:

  • the Knud Jansen lecture presented by Claude Tardif (ICRC),
  • three keynote lectures delivered by Bob Gailey, Saeed Zahedi and Gubela Mji,
  • the successful IC2A Inspirational Lecture delivered by Giles Duley,
  • the WHO GATE Symposium,
  • the launch of the WHO Standards of Prosthetics and Orthotics Service Provision.
