Every year, International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day (IPOD) gives our global community a moment to pause and celebrate what makes this field extraordinary: the people in it. For IPOD 2026, ISPO is launching “I AM P&O”, a campaign built entirely around that idea, with this year’s theme simply and powerfully set as People.
What is IPOD?
International Prosthetics and Orthotics Day is ISPO’s annual celebration of the professionals, researchers, technologists, educators, and — most importantly — the individuals whose lives are changed through prosthetics, orthotics, and assistive technology. Each year brings a new theme and a new way to bring the global P&O community together, from clinics and workshops to universities and outreach camps.
This year’s campaign: I AM P&O
“I AM P&O” invites everyone in our community — clinicians, technologists, students, researchers, and the people they work with every day — to share what this field means to them, in their own words and their own image.
Here’s how to take part:
- Share a photo that captures your connection to prosthetics and orthotics — at work, in the clinic, at a conference, or wherever your “I AM P&O” moment happens.
- Complete the sentence: “I AM P&O because…”
- Submit your story by scanning the QR code on our campaign materials or by clicking here
Selected stories will be featured as part of ISPO’s official IPOD 2026 campaign, shared across our website and social channels to showcase the breadth and heart of our global community.
Why “People”?
Prosthetics and orthotics is, at its core, a human field. Behind every device is a story — a clinician solving a complex fitting challenge, a technologist perfecting a socket by hand, a researcher pushing the evidence forward, or a person regaining independence and mobility. This year’s theme puts those stories front and center, reminding us that our impact is measured not just in devices delivered, but in lives changed.
It’s a fitting reflection of ISPO’s own mission: to Learn. Exchange. Support. Innovate. — together, as a global community.

Whether you’re a long-time ISPO member or new to the field, we want to hear from you. Share your photo, complete the sentence, and help us tell the story of P&O in 2026 — through the people who live it every day.
