New Report Demonstrates Readiness of LEADr and COMPASSr for Global Implementation

ISPO is pleased to announce the publication of a new report, “The LEADr & COMPASSr: Development, Evidence and Readiness for Implementation.” Based on a pilot study involving 121 people with lower limb absence across three sites in the Asia Pacific region, the report demonstrates that standardised outcome measurement in prosthetic rehabilitation services is both feasible and highly valued. Participants and clinicians reported positive experiences with the tools, highlighting the importance of capturing patient perspectives and generating evidence to strengthen prosthetic services in low- and middle-income countries.

The findings have informed the development of the streamlined LEADr and COMPASSr, which significantly reduce administration time while maintaining meaningful outcome measures. With interest already expressed by at least twelve ISPO Member Societies, the revised tools are ready for staged implementation and have the potential to provide the evidence needed to improve service quality, support sustainable funding, and enhance outcomes for people with limb absence worldwide.
