ISPO-Austria is an interdisciplinary association in the field of technical orthopedics in Austria. In addition to promote networking between members, our main goal is to promote vocational training, studies and scientific research. In this regards we are regularly organizing meetings, symposiums and workshops.

The current goal of ISPO-Austria is to organise training support to connect the medical topics with the technical advances like scanning and digitalization.
The Member Society is also planning to relaunch its own website.

ISPO-Austria is involved in the Master of Science program taught at the University for Continuing Education Krems:
– Neuroorthopedics – Disability Management
– Gait Diagnostics & Therapy

ISPO Azerbaijan was created in 2020.

Its objective as an ISPO Member Society is to promote a high level of knowledge in prosthetic and orthotic treatments, facilitate improvement of services to people with physical disabilities, and facilitate an active life and participation in society for individuals who use prosthetic and orthotic services.

The ISPO Member Society in Bosnia-Herzegovina was established in 2008.

The Croatian Member Society of ISPO is working on sharing knowledge in P&O field in Croatia.

Its main activity is organising a yearly symposium called orthopedic aids which gathers the entire P&O community of the country to share knowledge.

ISPO-France est la branche Française de ISPO. La Société française de l’ISPO a été créée le 1er octobre 1994.

Nous avons travaillé, avec l’environnement français de l’Orthopédie, et construit ISPO-France qui est devenu LE carrefour de l’orthopédie dont la France avait besoin. Une large place à l’établissement de relations confraternelles et a leur développement au cœur de notre Environnement a toujours représenté l’un des fondements de notre Société savante.

Le chemin vers la Pluriridisciplinarité qui nous avait été montré par ISPO à l’international a été notre moteur. Les Professionnels de l’Orthopédie s’y sont très vite retrouvés, et nous ont faits confiance. C’est ce postulat qui a toujours été la clé de nos réussites.

ISPO-France s’est ainsi imposée comme véritable “force de propositions”. En évitant de réduire notre objet à la technique de l’appareillage, et plaçant le patient au centre de nos préoccupations et de nos travaux, tout en valorisant l’acte d’application, nous avons réussi à placer la Société Française ISPO au cœur d’un terrain difficile, au carrefour de 7 professions.

ISPO est ouverte aux professionnels de l’Orthopédie: Chirurgiens, Médecins, Ortho-prothésistes, Podo-orthésistes, Kinésithérapeutes, Ergothérapeutes, Ingénieurs Biomécaniciens. Notre souhait est d’associer à notre entreprise, les personnes les plus compétentes dans leur domaine, afin de proposer des informations référentes de qualité.

ISPO-France est une Société Nationale Membre importante au sein du groupe puisqu’elle occupe le 3ème rang mondial.
ISPO-France organise chaque année son Congrès Scientifique National.
ISPO-France participe activement à la rédaction du Journal de l’Orthopédie.

Die ISPO-Deutschland ist eine interdisziplinäre und unpolitische Vereinigung mit dem Ziel, Wissenschaft und Forschung, Fortbildung und Praxis auf dem Gebiet der Prothesen-und Orthesenversorgung und Rehabilitation Körperbehinderter zu koordinieren und zu fördern.

Ziele der ISPO:

• Förderung des fachlichen Austausches zwischen den Mitgliedern
• Organisation und Durchführung wissenschaftlicher Veranstaltungen in eigener Verantwortung oder in Zusammenarbeit mit Fachgesellschaften
• Vertreten der nationalen Belange innerhalb der ISPO-International
• Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen und internationalen Fachgesellschaften gleicher Zielsetzung, insbesondere mit anderen nationalen Mitgliedervereinigungen der ISPO.

ISPO Hungary was established in 1995.

According to our Constitution, ISPO Hungary is a multidisciplinary, non-political, scientific organization, which operates on the field of rehabilitation and the prosthetics and orthotics care. Among our members there are rehabilitation doctors, orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapists, prosthetists and orthotists and distributors of medical devices.

ISPO Hungary has well-balanced economic and professional operations, and organises regular meetings and conferences.

ISPO Italia è un’associazione no-profit dedicata alle persone con disabilità e problematiche fisiche in ambito ortopedico.
L’associazione è Società Membro di ISPO Internazionale (International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics), fondata sull’integrazione di società nazionali.
ISPO Italia appartiene ad una rete internazionale di oltre 100 Paesi del Mondo, realizzando, in modo indipendente, attività scientifiche e formative condivise dalla Società Internazionale.

L’associazione si è costituita nel 2011 per dare alle persone che lavorano nel nostro paese in ambito ortopedico, l’opportunità di condividere un luogo di incontro e di crescita professionale nel territorio nazionale.

ISPO Italia vuole pertanto essere una società interdisciplinare in grado di riunire professionisti di specialità diverse, i quali condividono una visione comune per migliorare l’indipendenza delle persone con problemi neuromotori e con amputazioni, fornendo il massimo livello di riabilitazione incentrata sul paziente. Esserne parte non permette solo di ricevere benefici, ma costituisce un ottimo modo per fornire un contributo al progresso dell’orto-protesica in tutto il mondo.

The ISPO Member Society in Macedonia was established in 2017.

Het stimuleren en ondersteunen van wereldwijd onderzoek, ontwikkeling en evaluatie op the vakgebied van prothesen en orthesen. Zo wordt onder andere ook de scholing en training van technici in ontwikkelingslanden ondersteund door ontwikkeling van leermiddelen en het overdragen van kennis.

Het adviseren bij de ontwikkeling van standaarden voor terminologie, instrumentarium en technieken, test en behandelingsmethodieken, met het doel het uniformeren en verbeteren van de bahandeling en zorg van patiënten met stoornissen en beperkingen van het houdings- en bewegingsapparaat.

The ISPO Member Society in Sweden, Iceland, Denmark and Finland was established in 1975 with the goal to raise the level of competence and scientific standards within the field of prosthetics and orthotics.

The initial task was to stimulate the initiation and use of a multidisciplinary team approach in treating users of prosthetic and orthotic services. Through the years, many additional areas of focus have been established, and efforts to arrange conferences and courses have successfully established a strong and active NMS in Sweden, Iceland, Denmark and Finland.
Below are the current objectives defined by the ISPO Nordic NMS.

ISPO Nordic’s objective: Our objective as a multi-professional organization is to promote a high level of national knowledge in prosthetic and orthotic treatments, facilitate improvement of services to people with physical disabilities, and facilitate an active life and participation in society for individuals who use prosthetic and orthotic services.

ISPO Nordic will:

• Promote multi-professional collaboration and stimulate an evidence-based approach.
• Arrange courses and/or conferences to spread knowledge about research, evidence-based interventions, and experience-based clinical practice.
• Promote the use of ICF as a platform for goal formulations and communication.
• Promote the use of nomenclature according to International Standards Organization (ISO) for terms and descriptions in the field.
• Promote innovative therapies.
• Contribute to the introduction and use of national quality registries.
• Participate in work within ISPO-International.

Vårt mål er å bidra til å øke kunnskapsnivået om amputasjonsproblematikk, protese-, ortose- og fottøybehandling. Samt profilere betydningen av tverrfaglig teamarbeid innen behanding, forskning og produksjon. For å sikre at vi når våre mål arrangerer vi kurs og deltar i undervisning.

International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) ble grunnlagt i 1970 som en privat organisasjon basert på frivillig arbeid av flere faggrupper innen helseprofesjonene med fokus på tverrfaglig klinikk og undervisning på internasjonalt nivå.

Stowarzyszenie ISPO Polska powstało w 2013 roku. Inicjatywę podjęli specjaliści z dziedziny ortopedii, fizjoterapii, ortotyki, protetyki. Organizujemy szkolenia i konferencje poświęcone tematyce indywidualnego zaopatrzenia ortopedycznego oraz leczeniu i rehabilitacji pacjentów z zaburzeniami funkcjonowania narządu ruchu.

Działamy na rzecz rozpowszechniania w kręgach medycznych standardów postępowania w ortotyce oraz protetyce, tworząc interdyscyplinarne zespoły specjalistów.

Prin înființarea a 11 membri fondatori, pe 25 ianuarie 2005, Societatea Ortopedică Ortopedică pentru Proteză și Ortopatie ISPO România a fost înființată cu personalitate juridică. Mai târziu, ea a fost afiliată Asociației Medicale din România intern și afiliată internațional la Societatea Internațională de Protetică și Orthotică – ISPO, cu sediul la Copenhaga.

Scopul acestei companii este bazat pe activitatea profesională multidisciplinară a sănătății persoanelor cu dizabilități locomotorii, este identificarea, susținerea și promovarea sistematică a valorilor din domeniul protezei și ortezei, pentru a asigura dezvoltarea continuă a cunoștințelor și practicii medicale În domeniu Creșterea eficienței actului de amputare, proteză / orteză și îngrijire a pacienților cu dizabilități locomotorii, pentru reintegrarea socială, recâștigarea demnității personale și a statutului lor social adecvat prin dezvoltarea educației (formare profesională, Specializare, reconversie, policlinică etc.) În domeniul construcției protezelor și ortezelor și, în general, a tuturor serviciilor medicale și a altor activități în domeniu.

Astăzi, oferta ISPO de orientare multidisciplinară oferă prin parteneriate academice, congrese mondiale, conferințe și simpozioane regionale și revista “Protetica și Orthotics International”, revista ISPO oferă toate cele de filiale naționale din țările afiliate, promovând prin publicarea de studii și studii naționale, științific Și garantează tehnic informațiile la cel mai înalt nivel și oferind o infrastructură tehnică adecvată dezvoltării tehnologiilor biomedicale actuale, protezele bionice fiind ultima cucerire tehnică la granița dintre bionică și cibernetică.

ISPO ESPAÑA es una entidad de caracter nacional que forma parte de la estructura legal y administrativa de la Sociedad Internacional de Prótesis y Órtesis.

El objetivo de ISPO ESPAÑA es la FORMACIÓN y la INVESTIGACIÓN multidisciplinar en el campo de la ortésica y la protésica; y el desarrollo profesional técnico y humano en el ámbito sanitario.

Die Sektion Schweiz der ISPO ist eine Vereinigung zahlreicher primär konservativ tätiger Spezialisten im Bereich der Technischen Orthopädie. Neben der Prothetik und Orthetik umfasst dies die Orthopädie-Schuhtechnik, die Bandagistik, die Rehabilitation in technischer und therapeutischer Hinsicht, sowie die ärztliche Betreuung.

Ziel der Sektion Schweiz der ISPO ist neben der qualitativen Förderung der Aus- und Weiterbildung, die Unterstützung der Forschung und vor allem auch der internationale Anschluss als Gesamtes und in den einzelnen Fachbereichen. Über diese Verbindungen konnten schon zahlreiche Auslandaufenthalte vor allem jüngerer Mitglieder organisiert werden. Neben den erweiterten Kenntnissen kann so auch unser Netzwerk weiter ausgebaut werden.

La section Suisse de l’ISPO est une association regroupant de nombreux spécialistes de l’orthopédie technique travaillant principalement dans le domaine de la médecine conservatrice. Outre la prothétique et l’orthétique, cela comprend la technologie de chaussures orthopédiques, de bandage, la réhabilitation technique et thérapeutique ainsi que le traitement médical.

Le but de la section Suisse de l’ISPO est d’un côté le support qualitatif de la formation initiale et continue et de l’autre côté le soutien de la recherche. Un autre objectif est le contact international dans son ensemble et dans les domaines spécialisés mentionnés. Par ces contacts, de nombreux séjours à l’étranger ont été établis, notamment par de jeunes membres. En plus de l’élargissement des connaissances, cela nous permet également de développer notre réseau.

The ISPO Member Society in Turkey was established in 2004.

ISPO Ukraine was created in September 2015 to tackle the urgent need to improve the P&O knowledge base.

The P&O sector is being driven by skilled individuals with no or limited specialised educational background. ISPO, as the apex organisation in the P&O field has the experience and power to help Ukraine improve the life of its differently abled people.

ISPO Ukraine plans to:

• Work with the Ukraine Educational Institutes to establish dedicated regular CPO courses.
• Organise seminars, workshops with ISPO in Ukraine.
• Act as a conduit between the P&O sector and the govt.
• Help the govt. in making better laws for the differently abled people.
• Create awareness in the civil society towards disability and rehabilitation and enhance the society’s role in it.
• Act as a platform and the voice of the differently abled people.

The ISPO Member Society in the United Kingdom was established in 1972. It is an active society with approximately 200 members.

During the course of 2020/21, as with all organisations, we have dramatically changed the way we communicate with members and host events. During 2021 we hosted regular webinars on a range of relevant topics across rehabilitation. We also hosted an online Annual Scientific Meeting in collaboration with ISPO Norway. We have set up a Special Interest Group focusing on upper limb difference. We are actively preparing for the international TIPS upper limb scientific conference, which is a 3 day virtual event running from 30 March to 1 April 2022 in collaboration with ISPO Netherlands MS.

We are now in the process of planning activities for 2022 and we hope that following TIPS we will be hosting face to face workshops and meetings again.
ISPO UK is very keen to welcome new members to the organisation and we encourage members to get involved and participate as much as possible.
