The ISPO Education Committee shall consist of an Education Core Committee and Sub-Committees (Accreditation Sub-Committee, Auditors Training and Recruitment Sub-Committee, Education Standards Sub-Committee, Global Educators Meeting GEM Sub-Committee) and Working Group (Research & Education Working Group).

Education Core Committee

The ISPO Education Core Committee is responsible for ISPO activities at the level of entry-level education for prosthetic and orthotic occupations. The Education Core focuses on directing policy and coordinating and directing the work of the Education Sub-Committees within its remit to achieve established goals. ISPO Education Committee activities include the development of standards, the accreditation of prosthetics and orthotics training programmes and the formulation of policies relating to primary education for prosthetic and orthotic occupations.

Accreditation subcommittee

The ISPO Accreditation Sub-Committee ensures effective implementation of ISPO Education Standards by administering and monitoring accreditation activities for prosthetic/orthotic education programmes/pathways. The Sub-Committee reports to the ISPO Education Core Committee on prosthetic/orthotic accreditation activities and recommends accreditation related activities as needed. The Accreditation Subcommittee provides oversight for decisions with respect to programmes seeking ISPO accreditation. It monitors and maintains the quality of the ISPO’s accreditation processes by identifying and acting on trends observed across programmes/pathways and various levels of training.

Auditors Training and Recruitment Subcommittee

The ISPO Auditor Training and Recruitment Subcommittee (ATR) is responsible for the recruitment and training of ISPO Auditors, i.e. persons that evaluate a prosthetic and orthotic training programme or pathway during the accreditation process to assess compliance with the ISPO Education Standards.

The Education Standards Subcommittee develops, revises and updates the ISPO Education Standards and Accreditation Pathway for Prosthetic / Orthotic Occupations, in line with international education standards and best-practice accreditation.

The ISPO Global Educators Meeting (GEM) Subcommittee is responsible for the organization of the ISPO Global Educators Meeting and supplementary activities associated with the GEM.
